Marjorie Moebs' Obituary
89, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday February 5, 2017 at Mt. Vernon of South Park. A long-time resident of Pleasant Hills, PA, Mrs. Moebs was born in Washington, D.C. on April 27, 1927, the daughter of Elmer L. and Jeannette T. Hall. Marjorie was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Noel N. Moebs. She is survived by daughter Linda (Matt Eary) of Grantsville, MD; son Norman Moebs (Patti) & granddaughter Bethany Moebs of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandson Daniel Moebs (Leah) & great-grandson Richard Noel Moebs of Midlothian, VA, and her brother Lawrence L. Hall of Grantsville, MD. Marjorie graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and American University. Her employment included Johns Hopkins University Operations Research office, U.S. Bureau of Standards and Union National Bank’s Pleasant Hills office. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and was treasurer of Friends of the Pleasant Hills Library. She was an active member of Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church serving in many volunteer capacities. A loving & dedicated mother and a consummate homemaker, Marjorie’s family was her focus. She prepared wonderful healthy meals for gatherings of family & friends. She was an excellent seamstress & extremely well-organized. She loved music and gardening – both flowers and vegetables for the table. She’s remembered as a lovely lady with a sweet smile who had a quiet but abiding faith in God. Visitation will be held Sunday February 19, 2017 at 2pm with a Memorial Service following at 3pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org), Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, or the Pleasant Hills Library.
