Marilyn A. Lips' Obituary
Marilyn A. Lips, 75, lifelong resident of Baldwin, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born on October 29, 1947, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Howard and June (Hartland) Weigel.
Marilyn attended Robert Morris University where she received her bachelor’s degree. She enjoyed a fulfilling career, providing over 25 years of dedicated service at Jefferson Memorial Park. Her colleagues remember her as a kind and selfless individual, always ready to lend a hand and going above and beyond to serve the families in their community.
As a firm believer in the power of physical fitness, she always stayed active, especially enjoying roller skating and biking. She had a deep love for music finding solace and joy in the melodies, she could often be found humming along to her favorite tunes.
A woman of many passions, Marilyn found joy in the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed traveling with her loved ones and also enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls. She was a member of Hay’s United Methodist Church.
Above all, Marilyn cherished the time she spent with her friends and family, especially the memories made with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mee Mee”. Her home was a hub of warmth and love, and she was the glue that held everyone together. Her selflessness was evident in the way that she cared for those around her, always putting others needs before her own.
Marilyn was a beacon of positivity and strength. She had an unwavering spirit that touched the lives of everyone she met. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of the people she loved and the community she served. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to shine through in the lives of those who has the pleasure of knowing her.
Marilyn is survived by her three sons, Martin (Kelli) Lips, Richard (Dayna) Lips, and Robert (Kelly) Lips; her best friend, buddy and love of her life, Ron Keller; her beloved grandchildren, whom she adored, Heather and her significant other, Jeremy, Jack, Alyssa, Nathan, and Ryan; siblings, Jim Weigel and Janet (Bill) Darragh; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 2:00 - 7:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service in honor of Marilyn’s life will be held in the chapel at the funeral home 7:00 pm. Burial will be held privately.
