Marietta Koch's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marietta Koch, beloved wife, loving sister and cherished friend, who passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 69. Marietta, or Mare as she was better known, was born on August 30, 1955 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she spent her life and became a beloved and reliable member of the community.A proud graduate of Elizabeth Seton high school, class of '72, Marietta built a successful career as a call center manager at PRC. Her commitment to her work paralleled her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She was known for her selfless nature, always willing to lend a hand and take care of others. Marietta's warmth and reliability made her a pillar of support to those who knew her.Marietta found joy in baking. She often made biscotti, cookies, and beautifully decorated cakes. She took great pleasure in sharing her culinary talents with loved ones, bringing friends and family together around her delicious creations.Marietta leaves behind her husband, Dennis Koch, who will forever cherish the love and happiness they shared, her siblings Debbie (Greg) Rose and Joseph (Marilyn) Zyks; Brother-in-law Richard (Jessica) Koch; nieces and nephews, Abbey Rose, Bryce Rose, Jason (Melissa) Zyks and Ryan Koch, as well as her life-long friend Kimmy.
Marietta was preceded in death by her loving parents, Joseph and Mary Zyks.
Friends and family will be warmly invited to gather together to celebrate Marietta's life and share memories of the incredible woman she was on Saturday June 14, 2025 starting at 11:00am at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home 301 Curry Hollow Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A memorial service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel At 12pm.
