Marie D. Heard, 102, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on September 8, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1923, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was affectionately known as "Bunny" by her close friends and family.
Marie was preceded in death by her daughter Cheerie A. Nesbit, grandson Eric J. Nesbit, brothers, William and Martin, sisters, Helen, Nellie and Pauline.
Marie is survived by daughter Charmane Moore (Melvin), Sister Mary and brother Benjamin, granddaughter Chervelle Bundrige (Paris, Sr.), Adele Williams (David), Joell Nesbit (Tracie), Rhonda Nesbit, Joel Moore, Shawn Moore (Nicole); several great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
Those who knew Marie will remember her for her love of walking. She could be found walking the steep hills of the Hill District, to the streets of downtown Pittsburgh. She was also known for the lessons she was so willing to share and for her humorous sayings. "What I say" was an all-time favorite of her family's and is sure to put a smile on their faces.
She had a deep-rooted faith in God and an unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. She never met a stranger and had a huge smile and warm hello for all who's path she crossed. She had a quick wit and a gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on those graced with her presence.
She leaves a legacy of love, resilience and faith that will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her.
