Marie Barrett's Obituary
Marie Barrett, 86, of St. Petersburg passed away peacefully in her sleep, at home, on November 15, 2018. Born on September 8, 1932 in Ligonier, PA to Alex and Louise (Papp) Kenney, she moved to St. Petersburg in the early 1970's from Bethel Park, PA. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Klima (Richard); grandchildren Michelle Thomas (Shawn) and Jesse Klima; sister, Louise Martin; and many beloved extended family members and friends. Marie was the first female paramedic of the Gulfport, FL, and held various other jobs throughout her life, including beauty shop owner, medical technician and florist. She loved gardening, ancestry, and bringing her family closer together. She was very active in the church life and ministries of Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Petersburg, particularly with the Council of Catholic Women, and was a staunch advocate of having children attend Mass. Marie had a particular devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and always attended Adoration. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church. She will be interred at Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh, PA, 12 noon, Wednesday, November 28, 2018.
