Margaret Sinclair's Obituary
Margaret "Peggy" Sinclair
Peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the age of 78 after a life well lived. Peggy, of Washington, PA was born to the late Margaret (Lucas) and Frank Phillips on July, 6 1946. She grew up in the Coverdale section of Bethel Park and moved to Castle Shannon.
Peggy was a very independent, intelligent, talented and caring person. She was a great cook who took pride in the little things that made everyone around her feel special. Her grandchildren still talk about her eggs benedict, tiramisu and corned beef hash. She had a soft spot for cats, having one almost her whole adult life. She also had a very artistic side, having painted several paintings and many other artistic projects.
Peggy really enjoyed the outdoors. She spent time on archeological sites with the Allegheny Chapter No. 1 of Pennsylvania Archaeology, doing the excavating while holding positions from Trustee and Chairman to President. When she wasn't digging up artifacts, she was working in her garden, she used rainwater captured from a rain barrel and her own compost to help grow organic vegetables.
She graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1963 at age 17 after skipping a year of school, shortly after she got married, spent time raising her children, got divorced then went to Robert Morris University and graduated with honors in 1992.
After graduation Peggy worked at several contractors within the Department of Energy, Tri-Cor, Burns and Roe and Pittsburgh Energy Technology Center. She then spent several years at Siemens Building Technology before one of the most enjoyable stints when she worked with her two sons at New Era and Sinclair Financial in the mortgage business. That experience led her to Washington Mutual and Land America before retirement.
Peggy is survived by her two sons, David (Shari) and Glenn, sister Janet (Jim) Amick, brother Frank, grandchildren: Brittany Buchanan, preceded in death by Erika Rich, Joshua (Rosa) Sinclair, Jessica Sinclair (Gabe Kleinert), Mckenzi Sinclair (Zach Donnely) and three great grandchildren.
As per Peggy's wishes there will be no funeral or formal service, but family and friends are encouraged to attend a Celebration of Life for Peggy on August 2nd at Scott Township Park, Park Dr, #2, Carnegie, PA 15106, Walnut Grove Shelter.
