Margaret Ann Parker's Obituary
Margaret Ann Parker, age 85, of Baldwin, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2021.
Born, March 30, 1936, in Magee Women's Hospital to the late Madge Wormsley. She grew up in Horning, the youngest of six children.
On January 31, 1953, Margaret married the late Ulysses (Ducky) Parker Jr. This union was blessed with three children, Gerald, Larita and Lori. She started working at the early age of 13 for a school teacher doing housework. She then worked for several retail stores including GC Murphy, Hornes, Gold Circle, and Value City. She also worked for John Kane Nursing Home for nine years. She always loved helping and taking care of people and did so anywhere she was needed. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in South Park, PA. In her early years she attended Hardy’s Bible School and South Hills Assembly of God School Of Evangelism. She was also part of their Circle of 7. She was a member of the downtown Salvation Army "God Sent Grandparents" and a member of the Mount Lebanon Wednesday Morning Prayer Group. In 1981 she was with the late Syloan Allen, when she was called to start the downtown Women’s Aglow. She was blessed to receive a certificate of achievement from Lydia's place for mentoring and teaching bible study for women at the Pittsburgh County Jail, where she was part of the prison ministry with her late sister Dorothy Johnson and Pastor Cash for three years. She was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church for most of her life and on September 22, 2002, she became an ordained minister.
In addition to her 3 children she leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Brandey Parker-Boyd (Michael), Eugene Parker Sr., and Demitrius Carrington; 5 great-grandchildren Jaqwon and Janiya Parker, Eugene Parker Jr. Makiya and Jaionna Boyd; her sister Dolores Jacobs; a special nephew, Victor Alston, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Madge Wormsley and her siblings, Dorothy Johnson, Thomas, Raymond and Robert Wormsley.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236.
