Peggy was leading the Monroeville ACPA group already for many years when I walked in as a very discouraged person unsure of how I could continue to have a life. Over many years I saw her encourage not only myself, but many others. She rarely talked about herself, but continued to encourage all of us to find meaning in life. Some people came only a few times and others became lifelong friends. Sadly some died and are now sorely missed. After the group stopped meeting, a few of us still have kept in touch. Before Peggy had to give up her apartment, we would bring our take out from Eat n Park over to Peggy's and celebrate the life that ACPA had given back to us. Sadly Peggy had to give up her independence and move to Mt. Lebanon. Elaine and I would try to see her every few months. Her family did locate such a wonderful caring residence. Over the years Peggy depended on a wheelchair and we had lunch in a private dinning room near her room . Thankfully I have pictures that Elaine took at each of our lunches. As with so many others, the lock downs disrupted our visits.
Elaine, myself and Randy will be eternally grateful for all the encouragement and friendship that Peggy gave us without asking for anything for herself. She was a special person .
