Margaret J. Mima (Morton)'s Obituary
On October 19, 2019, age 88, of Baldwin. Daughter of the late Albert C. and Carolyn K. (Coulter) Morton. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with high honors, Margaret worked as a chemist for the US Bureau of Mines research center at Bruceton, PA, and later for the US Dept. of Energy. She performed and supervised elemental analyses of coal, ore, gasoline, and organic byproducts, but her specialty was the direct determination of oxygen in organic materials, a method developed at the research center where she met her husband, Joseph A. Mima, who preceded her in death in 2004. Mother of Robin L. (Dave) Stanton; grandmother of Andrew (Ashley), Douglass (Maggie), Kelsey (Mike), and Ellyn; great-grandmother of Zoey; also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2-4 & 7-9 at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 23, 10 AM, at the Baldwin Community United Methodist Church. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baldwin Community United Methodist Church, 5001 Baptist Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
