Margaret Brown Barati
of Providence Point, Scott Township, passed suddenly into Eternal Life on May 10,2022. Born in Pittsfield MA in 1931 to the late Noland and Mittie Brown, she is survived by her dearly beloved husband William A. Barati of 67 1/2 years, her daughter Diane L. Barati, formerly of Shadyside, several cousins, nieces, and nephew, and predeceased by her daughter, Donna Lynn Barati of Connecticut, and brother, Bruce Brown of Sacramento, CA. She was a high honor graduate of Pittsfield High School, Hood College, and Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. After completing her nursing training, she married in 1954 and lived as an Army officer's wife in Camp (now Fort) Stewart GA where her husband was Commander of an Ordnance Co. Upon arriving in Pittsburgh, she worked at St Clair Hospital for a short time with the remainder of her career as Vice President and Secretary of Barati Brothers Inc., retiring in 1989. In Pittsburgh, she was active at Zion Lutheran Church in Women's Club and many church activities including serving as circle leader and Deacon, and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Family and home were always her main dedication while enjoying gardening, sight-seeing, photography, and sports. After retirement, traveling was extensive including visiting all fifty states, Canada, Mexico, and five other continents. Winters for twenty-two years were spent at her home in Sun City Center FL where she was co-president of the Audubon Society, worked with Bunka, Garden Club, and St Andrew Church, where she was a Stephen Minister. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home 301 Curry Hollow Road Pittsburgh PA 15236. Burial is private, a memorial service will be held at later date at Providence Point Chapel.
