Lynn R. Chalfant's Obituary
Lynn R. Chalfant, 81 of Holland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born on November 2, 1942, in Fayette County, PA, the son of the late Andrew Jarrett Chalfant and Elsie Mae Lynn Chalfant. He is survived by his wife, Leanne Gorski Chalfant; sons Luke Chalfant, Michael Chalfant, daughter Michelle Dusch; brother Greg (Patti) Chalfant; nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his sister Sharon (Elmer) Smith.
Lynn grew up in Perryopolis, PA, and after graduating from Frazier High School in 1960, served in the United States Air Force. Lynn attended Penn State University. His career included 15 years at Levinson Steel in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was Vice President of Information Systems. Lynn also worked for the Toledo Department of Public Utilities and Sauder Woodworking in Ohio.
Lynn enjoyed fishing, golfing and vacationing at the beach. His favorite place in Northwest Ohio was Sidecut Metropark, where most days he walked a couple miles appreciating the wildlife and nature.
In December 2005, Lynn received the gift of a life-saving donor heart transplant. The family suggests that memorial donations be sent to Life Connection of Ohio. Lifeconnection.org.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Park.
