Lucia Martuccio's Obituary
Lucia "Lucy" Martuccio age 91, of Pittsburgh, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Lucy is survived by her beloved children; Dominic (Kathleen) Martuccio, Marilyna (Donald) Barrett, Micheline "Michelle" (Robert) Jasko. Cherished Nana of Robertino, Nicholas, and Andrew Jasko, Victoria, Jason, Alexa, and Gracie Barrett, and Carly Martuccio and great-grand daughter, Lucy Mae Perdziola. Lucy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 36 years, Michael Martuccio; grandson, Michael Anthony Martuccio; siblings, John Martucci, Anna Marie Viola, and Carmela Martucci.
Lucy "Mamma Lucia" came to Pittsburgh in 1950 from a small town in Italy and settled in Hazelwood when the Steel Town was booming. She was determined to learn the English language, raising her children, and being the matriarch of her family. Lucy was a wonderful, loving and mild-mannered wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook who welcomed all to Sunday dinner. Lucy was a devoted Catholic who went to Mass daily and instilled her faith in her family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, 10 am at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel Church, 5200 Greenridge Drive, Pittsburgh.
Burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Hazelwood.
