Lola (Scappellato) O'Dea, 78, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Clairton, passed away peacefully on Saturday after a short illness. Loving mother of Kieran (Jennifer) O'Dea and beloved grandmother to Quinten, Alyssa, Elena, and Devyn O'Dea. She is also survived by her twin sister and soul mate, Lois Bernardi and sister Elaine Coulter, beloved "aunt sis" to Sandra Bernardi Hathazy, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many dear cousins and relatives. Lola was a member of the Peace Corp from 1965 to 1967 serving in Venezuela. An avid traveler, she met her late husband, Anthony O'Dea, in Europe, and they were married on the Rock of Gibraltar in Madrid, Spain. Lola retired from the Brashear Association after 30 years of service helping those in need on the Southside of Pittsburgh. She was a passionate reader and loved art. She was a tireless advocate for women and human rights. Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 24, 2017, 2 pm - 4 pm & 6 pm - 8 pm at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Funeral Ceremony will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017, 11:30 am, in the Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brashear Association (2005 Sarah Street, Pittsburgh, PA, 15203). Condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
