Linda M. Wancheck's Obituary
Linda M. Wancheck, age 73, of South Park Township, went to her eternal rest after a long struggle with cancer on May 21, 2024. She was born on May 15, 1951 in Brownsville, PA.
Linda is survived by her brother Perry (Cindy) Wancheck and her two nephews, Michael and Nicholas Wancheck. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Wancheck.
Linda graduated from South Park High School in 1969. She then went on to attend Robert Morris University where she received an Associate's Degree. After her schooling was completed, Linda went on to work at Western Electric Company in East Liberty up until the plant closed. She then worked at Giant Eagle in the produce department until she retired.
She loved everything about the late fifties and early sixties: the early rock and roll music, the cars with fins and solid steel, especially convertibles, the early "cool" look. She also had a fondness for cats, having three that shared her house with her at one point. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, May 25 at 10 am at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Thomas A'Becket Worship Site, 139 Gill Hall Road, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025.
