You had amazing strength and an outrageous sense of humor. You raised three children on your own, worked night shift, crocheted, cooked and opened your heart to animals. A true hero. No one enjoyed halloween more or decorated for Christmas like you. I hope you're swimming wherever you are! -Dana
Last year while sitting at the breakfast table with Lil and Joyce I was feeding Joyce who was having a difficult time this particular morning. Out of nowhere Lil says \"Look at me Joyce. This is easy way to eat sausage.\" Lil picked up a sausage link held it with her pinky finger pointing out and took a bite. After she chewed and swallowed she says to Joyce \"now Joyce you try \". Joyce beamed a big smile and said \"Lil knows my name!\" Then Joyce picked up the link that I hadn't cut yet and mimicked Lil. Then Lil says \"they think I'm dumb around here. But I'm not!\" It was a true moment of clarity that brought tears to both Joyce and me!!
I am so very sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies to you and your families. I loved Lil and her remarks. Heaven has gained a true angel.
We all call her Grandma Lil. She was a hard-working, outspoken and honest woman. I have fond memories of her making us laugh and proudly doing the jobs that no one else wanted to do (like cleaning the turkey after Thanksgiving diner...yuck). She lived a long, full life with family, friends and critters at her side. She will be missed more than she could have ever known. I am grateful she was a part of my life.

Hennie would sit on her lap and they would watch animal shows together or we would join Lil in a game of Bingo.On nice days Hennie would sit on Lil's lap and we would take a stroll outside to enjoy some fresh air.Lil also found comfort in her FurReal animated Cat ,which Henriettia couldn't quite figure out if it was \"Real\". It was our pleasure and great honor to share some time with your mom, and loved one Lil, these past 2 yrs.May she rest in Eternal Peace.
