Lillian Mae Sayers' Obituary
Lillian Mae Sayers (Robison), of Finleyville, best known as "Lil" or "Lilliana," and to her family as Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Nana, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She lived 86 beautiful years, marked by deep faith, joyful service, and unwavering love for those around her.
Born on March 12, 1939, Lillian was the cherished only child of Lillian Carothers and Charles Robison and was later lovingly raised by her stepfather, Frank Carothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, and her beloved husband of 67 years, Ronald "Dick" Glenn Sayers.
Lillian and Ronald built an extraordinary marriage on love and a true commitment to the vows they had made. Together, with their shared love of family and others, lived a life of purpose and faith.
A devoted homemaker, Lillian lived her life in joyful obedience to God's calling. Her service to Christ was central to who she was. She was deeply involved in many areas of ministry at her local church, South Hills Assembly, of which she was a founding member, and around the world through different missions trips. Especially to the country of Bolivia, which she served in and loved the people and the place with a deep affection. She was always willing to listen, pray, encourage, and offer wisdom and hope rooted in her faith in Jesus. Even when health challenges limited her ability to attend church and women's groups, her faith remained steadfast and her love for the Lord never wavered.
Second to her faith, family was Lillian's greatest blessing and her deepest joy. She especially loved the holidays and cherished time spent together.
Lillian was known for her contagious laughter and unmistakable joy-you could hear her laugh wherever you were. She was always ready for an adventure, often with her bags packed and her heart open. She loved to travel and explore, visiting places such as Hawaii, Alaska, Israel, and many other destinations, and found equal joy in long car rides and road trips across the country.
She is survived by her children Ronald (Cheri), Doug (Susan), and Becky (Tom); nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Care Bear.
Now rejoicing in eternal life, Lillian is joyfully reunited with her beloved husband in the presence of their Savior, Jesus Christ.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:21
