Lillian June Godleski's Obituary
Lillian "June" Godleski, 88, of Stoneboro, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2022. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Formally of Pittsburgh, PA, June lived most of her life in the city where she owned several businesses including a bar and two hair salons. In the early 90's she, along with her family, moved to the Stoneboro area in Mercer County, a place that she loved visiting for many years as a part time resident before making the area her permanent home and purchasing the Sandy Lake Diner. After eventually selling the business, she was not content to retire and went on to work for Giant Eagle as one of the friendly sample ladies who never minded giving an extra sample out. During her time there she proudly served as shop steward for her union UFCW (Local 1776).
Survived by daughter Valerie (John) Lower, grandsons Jaison & Jacob Lower, and great grandsons Lucas & Julian Lower. Proceeded in death by her parents Lilian and Paul Serowik, husband Bernard Godleski, daughter Paula McEvoy, and her beloved Yorkshire Terriers Winston and Angel.
Family & friends will be received at the Brentwood VFW at 3801 Sawmill Run Blvd on May 21st at 2:00 PM for a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stray Haven Animal Shelter of Greenville, PA.
