Lena Jo Bereksazi's Obituary
Lena Jo Bereksazi, age 89, of Baldwin, passed away on April 24, 2026.
Born on January 17, 1937, in Mannington, WV, Lena was the eighth of nine children, growing up on the family farm where she shared fond memories of her childhood, including sneaking out to the cornfield to smoke corn silk and getting one of her sisters in trouble for allowing the cow to eat all the apples.
Lena graduated high school and briefly pursued her ambition of nursing training before making the heartfelt decision to dedicate herself to her family and marry her beloved husband, Michael, whom she met on a blind date. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Lena is survived by her children Michele (Doug) Kozy, Cheryl (Joseph) Filardi, William (Bobbi) Bereksazi, and Leslie Park; grandchildren Caleb (Hilary) Forsythe, Courtlynd Forsythe, and Brandon Park; great-grandchildren Cadence Forsythe and Ashton Forsythe.
She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Bereksazi and her parents Bessie and Dewey Ice.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, April 30 at 10:00 am at Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Worship Site, 3198 Schieck Street, Pittsburgh 15227. Burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
