LaVerne F. Svidro's Obituary
LaVerne F. " Lala" Svidro, age 94, of Pittsburgh, passed away on November 23, 2025.
LaVerne was a vibrant and active member of the Life Span community, where she enjoyed going out to lunch and participating in bus trips with her friends. She had a penchant for the thrill of the casino and often delighted in the excitement of scratch-off tickets. A fond lover of nature, LaVerne found joy in feeding the birds and cherished her time spent at the beach, where many happy memories were made. She will also be lovingly remembered for her exceptional cooking and baking, with her specialties of stuffed cabbage and nut horns.
LaVerne is survived by her daughters Linda (David) Svidro and Dona (Jay) Edwards; 7 step grandchildren; 13 step great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, good neighbors, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Svidro, parents Edward and Mary Tytke, sister Dorothy Karpa, and brother Edward Tytke.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Blessing service will take place on Wednesday, November 26 at 10:00 am in the funeral home's chapel.
