Dear Janice and family. I worked with Larry when we both were at Westinghouse and kept in touch over the years. A true stalwart, friend at large and mentor for many. He will surely be missed. Pl accept my condolences, Rusi Taleyarkhan (Professor- Purdue Univ)
The world has lost another kind, generous, very knowledgeable and sharing person. Bettis Lab had many good mentors and Larry was one of them. I was a better engineer and person as a result of his mentoring and his leading by example. Since I was unable to attend the services, please accept my virtual condolences.
Our gentle thoughts are with Larry's family in this difficult time. We wish you the comfort and joy of a life well-lived.
Larry remains an important part of many of lives. His generosity and good humor will be missed.
Writing for him early in my career turned out to be life changing - I'm glad my spouse and I had a chance to celebrate with him one of our anniversaries. He took deserved pride in being responsible for our initial meeting more than a decade ago! It was there that he quoted Maya Angelo with words that made their way into our wedding ceremony: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

With sympathy and sincere heart felt celebration of a life so extraordinarily well lived. From Jody Guy and the team at Center for Civic Arts.
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
Dearest Janice and family,
Ole Friends never forget wonderful neighbors of the past. Although, it has been some years since we have seen one another, we are so sad to learn of Larry's passing. He always had something to joke about and a big smile. Our thoughts are with all of you.

Larry was always approachable and cared deeply about his craft and welcoming others to the table. I loved catching up with him at conferences and the occasional messages we shared. My condolences to the family. A truly genuine and loving mentor. Lisa Marshall, NC State Nuclear
Larry was one of the finest examples of the people retirees refer to when they say their colleagues were what made Bettis an attractive place to work. John was lucky to meet him shortly after he joined the Lab and enjoyed many all-too-brief encounters with him from then until a couple of years ago when we moved away. Larry combined high intelligence with a strong desire to contribute and remarkable human decency. While we grieve at our loss, we should treasure our memories of this fine man. Please accept our condolences. John and Sandy Newman
Larry was a wonderful man, a great friend of our family and a terrific neighbor who always had a kind word for everyone. Please accept our condolences. May his memory be a blessing.
