Kevin Patrick McIntyre's Obituary
Kevin Patrick McIntyre, passed away on July 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love. Born on August 31, 1958, Kevin's zest for life and his commitment to his family and friends made him a cherished figure in the hearts of many.
Kevin's journey through life was one marked by deep connections and an ever-present sense of humor. He was the best friend and devoted companion to Susan Martin, who stood by him through thick and thin. His pride and joy were evident in his son, Chase McIntyre, who inherited his father's passion for life. Kevin's love extended to his bonus children, Samantha (Larry) Brown, Jacklyn (Cory) Moore, and David Fiedler, II, as well as his treasured grandchildren, Larry III, Leland Brown, and Braden, Mia, & Kaitlyn Moore. He was a son to Charles (Sandra) McIntyre, and a brother to Gary (Kathleen) McIntyre and Scott (Tracey) McIntyre. Kevin's playful spirit lives on in his grand-dogs, Bailey and Fiona, and his memory will be cherished by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding him in death were his beloved mother, Carole Weise, and stepfather, Norm Weise.
Kevin was a force of nature. His daily workouts kept him going. A lifelong athlete, he competed and participated in a wide variety of sports from childhood up until his senior years. He shared that passion with his son, always coaching and practicing whatever sport Chase was into at the time. Kevin's loyalty to Pittsburgh sports was disgruntled yet unwavering. Prior to his current role, Kevin dedicated many years to recruiting for trade schools, where he found joy in assisting students and making a difference in their lives.
It was impossible to go anywhere with Kevin without witnessing his magnetic personality in action—he knew everyone, and everyone knew him. He was famous for his catalog of one-liners which were uttered often, and inevitably bought him a laugh or two. Affectionately dubbed "Pappy Kevin," he was the heart of family gatherings, where his love and infectious energy were the highlights of every occasion.
Kevin's legacy is one of joy and generosity. Described by those who knew him as funny and full of life, he had an innate ability to light up a room and make everyone feel at home. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created will continue to inspire laughter and warmth in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
