Kenneth Drury Benner's Obituary
Kenneth Drury Benner age 88 of Allison Park (formerly of Gibsonia) set final chocks on May 15, 2022. Ken was a graduate of the Engineering School at the University of Pittsburgh. However, aviation was his true passion. He spent 27 years as an F-102 pilot flying for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard and retired with the rank of Colonel. He was active in his local flying club and received a commendation from the FAA for his more than 50 years of dedicated service in aviation safety. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending numerous weeks in the mountains of Pennsylvania hunting and fishing with his lifelong friends. He also enjoyed traveling the world, spending time in his beloved Maine and watching old movies in later years. No matter his age, his Donald Duck impression was second to none. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Barbara Lee (Palmer) Benner, and his parents, Kenneth and Gladys (Drury) Benner. He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Benner Duble, Lauren Benner Romain and Mara Benner, as well as his grandchildren: Tobey Duble, Liza Duble, Hailee Romain and Deven Romain. Private services were held at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. Donations in Ken's name can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
