June A. Bodnar's Obituary
June A. Bodnar, age 95, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on March 10, 1930, to the late Francis and Katherine Surdoval.
June was the beloved wife of 22 years to the late Stephen Bodnar, sister of the late Mary (Eugene) Block and the late Francis (Phylis) Surdoval.
She is survived by her children, Anne (Bobby) Brown, Mary Bodnar and Mark (Melissa) Bodnar; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Verlihay, Megan (Geoff) Faust, Emily (Annie) Bodnar, Sarah (Jeff) Bodnar, Stephen Bodnar, Jack Bodnar and Joseph Bodnar; and great grandchildren, Dylan and Nora Verlihay and Elliot Hodder. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and beloved extended family.
June worked for the PA Liquor Control Board and retired after 35 years of service. She was an avid Steelers fan and never missed her monthly card games and bingo. Her greatest joy came from her family, whom she loved cooking holiday meals for. She will be remembered for her kind heart and the passion she had for her children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Adobe Care of Monroeville and Monarch Hospice for their selfless care of June.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 10:00 - 11:30 am at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service in honor of June will begin at 11:30 am. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Monarch Hospice, 2837 Leechburg Rd, New Kensington, PA 15068.
