Julianna "Julie" M. Olah's Obituary
Julianna “Julie” M. Olah, age 92, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2023. Julie was born on June 26, 1930 in Hazelwood, raised her family and spent most of her life in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Greenfield and spent her last years at Concordia of the South Hills in Mt. Lebanon. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Bert Olah, and his wife Joan of Mt. Lebanon, and David Olah and his wife Janine of Shippensburg, PA; her grandchildren Mark Olah, and his wife Samantha, Melissa Murphy and her husband Tim, Michael Olah, Matthew Olah, Darren Olah and his wife Silke, and Brad Olah; and her great grandchildren Laurel and Finn Murphy and Alexander Olah. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Bertalan Olah, her sisters Vilma Sawl and Elizabeth Rasky and her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Telyusko.
A graduate of Alderdice High School she retired from the University of Pittsburgh where she worked for many years in the Cleft Palate Center which is part of the University Dental School. She was a lifelong member of the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Pittsburgh.
She loved travelling, gardening, crafting, word puzzles, spending time with her family, and visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her and benefitted from her kindness and generosity.
She will be laid to rest at Jefferson Memorial Park. A private service will be held for close family only. Condolences may be shared at www.jeffersonmemorial.com.
