Judith Lee Fichter's Obituary
Judith Lee Fichter, age 84, of Avalon, passed away on January 1, 2019. She is survived by her nieces, Jean (Chris) Corkill and Linda (John) Grubba; and great-nephew, Matthew Grubba and his family, Tiffany Minard and Glenn Merkel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew J. and Lillian Fichter; brother, John A. Fichter; and close cousins, Carol Jean Black and Sherry Fink. She was a longtime Bellevue resident, and graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Masters from Duquesne University. She was a foreign language teacher for 32 years at North Hills High School. In retirement, she enjoyed her work in retail at Horne's Department Store, Edie's Gift Shop, and Phyllis' Fashions. Judy was a dedicated volunteer for 22 years at Allegheny General Hospital and an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church of Brighton Heights. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Blessing Service will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 3577 McClure Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
