Judith L. Ebbert (Lodge)'s Obituary
Judith L. Ebbert of Cherry Hill, NJ died on Sept 18, 2022, in Voorhees, NJ. Age 81. Beloved wife of Daniel J. Ebbert, Jr.; devoted mother of Daniel J. (Deborah) Ebbert, III, of North Wales, PA, and David Lodge Ebbert of West Lafayette, IN; and of sister-in-law of Joan Lodge of Kingsport, TN. She was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Kathleen Lodge; and brother Dennis V. Lodge. Also, survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Bethel Park, PA, Judith attended Bethel Park High School where she was class valedictorian. She graduated from Robert Morris University, attended classes at Pitt, and after relocating to Cherry Hill, she continued her studies at Rutgers, State University of NJ in Camden. Judith met Dan Ebbert. Jr., (formerly of Pittsburgh), and were married at Heinz Chapel at University of Pittsburgh.
While in Pittsburgh, Judith worked for Joy Manufacturing, and later as Secretary to the Vice President of Universal Atlas Cement Division of U.S. Steel Corporation. After moving to NJ, Judith was corporate secretary for several South Jersey companies, and actively worked assisting her husband with The Ebbert Company, manufacturers rep business, then later as a business services contractor for Sensor Electronics. She later joined Kingsway Realty Company as Administrative Assistant to the President and retired in 2014, after 20 years service.
Judith is a member of the St Andrew's United Methodist Church in Cherry Hill. She worked on numerous volunteer and committee projects with Cherry Hill School PTA, Boy Scouts Troop 144, Covered Bridge Swim Club, and St. Andrew's Church arts and crafts projects. Also, she was active with the Cherry Hill Welcome Wagon, and is currently active with Holy Eucharist Wednesday Quilters, Charity Quilters, Barclay Book Club, and the Barclay Farms Arts and Craft Group. Her hobbies were reading, walking, sewing, traveling and meeting with friends. In 1960, while traveling with friends in New York, she appeared as a contestant and prize winner on the Jan Murray TV Show.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 26th at 10 A.M. in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
