In Loving memory of my mom
Mom is one of the biggest hero's in my life. She has been a first -hand demonstration of love and caring for others by the many ways she has cared for family members and others throughout her life. She took my grandfather and grandmother in when things got harder for them to manage their lives. She handled my grandfather's cancer treatment through the end of his life and then took care of my grandmother whom developed macular degeneration, eventually being pronounced blind. She cared for grandma up until her own cancer diagnosis and treatment until she was no longer able to care for her and herself. Even at the same time, she cared for her loving husband Ralph through his illness while fighting off cancer and going through treatments.
Outside of the family, Mom was previously a nursing home attendant, caring for the elderly in Mays Manor. She made sure each of those in her charge felt cared about and listened to, although that can be hard when the person had memory problems like dementia. Further, she served as housekeeping in Mercy Hospital. Mom always tried to talk to the patients while she was in their room to try and brighten their day just a little bit.
Her service to others has been an inspiration to me as I watched her put aside her own comfort to provide comfort to others time and time again. God has received a hard-working, big-hearted, strong, and dedicated angel. Those she left behind will miss her greatly until we meet again.
