Joseph Michael Yimin's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate the life of Joseph "Smokin' Joe" Yimin, who passed away on December 6, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on December 24, 1953, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with fierce loyalty and love.
As an accomplished iron worker in the steel industry, Joe's skills and expertise were matched only by his entrepreneurial spirit, as he also owned a small business specializing in high-performance machines. His adventurous spirit shone through not only in his work but in his passion for motorcycles. He loved the freedom of the open road and cherished every trip taken, where countless memories were made with family and friends.
Joe is survived by his beloved spouse of 48 years, Kathryn "Kitty" Yimin, and their three daughters, Jennifer (Brett) Jennings, Celine ( Chris) Miller, and Angel ( JJ) Lamonaca. He was a proud grandfather to David, Anthony, Julia, Joe, Ryan, Kit, and Avy, and his legacy of love and strength will forever remain in their hearts. He is also survived by his brothers, John and Mark Yimin, and his sisters, Sherri Yimin and Lisa Bobrzynski.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Smokin' Joe on December 13, 2024, at 8:00 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Family and friends will be received from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 Pm providing an opportunity for friends and family to come together to share stories and celebrate Joe's vibrant life.
Joseph Michael Yimin's legacy of warmth, strength, and adventure will live on in all who knew him. He fought his whole life to be the best version of himself for his family. Smokin' Joe left an indelible mark on our lives, and we are grateful for the time we had with him. Let us gather together to honor his memory and celebrate the remarkable man he was.
