Joseph A. Hawk, Jr.
Age 83, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 after a long illness. Beloved husband of 56 years to Gerrie (Casturo) Hawk; loving father of Stephen and Robert (Debbie) Hawk, Kathleen (Ronald) Parkinson and Jennifer (Denny) Terzich; proud grandfather of Tyler, Luke and Jocci Hawk, Daniel and Christie Parkinson; brother of Mary Lou Hawk and the late Sarah Shotting; uncle of Kenneth, Karen, and Jean Ann Shotting, Mary Jo Wilen, Patty Seegers, and Sarah Lynn Blatnik. Joe was very patriotic having served in the U.S Army during the Occupation of Germany as a member of the Army Security Agency (ASA), and an active member of the American Legion Post #380. He was a retired foreman of U.S. Steel National Works #2 Seamless Hot Mill. He was a social member of West Mifflin #3 Fire Hall and the Dutch Club. He also enjoyed having coffee with his friends and watching the Pirates with his wife, Gerrie. Visitation will be held Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 am in Holy Spirit Church. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park with military honors to follow.
