Joseph Estock's Obituary
Joseph Estock Another member of the greatest generation received God's eternal grace on July 10, 2016 when Joseph Estock died peacefully at his home in Jefferson Hills at age 97. Joseph was born December 15, 1918 in Large, PA to Mary and Michael Estock, and was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church. He retired in 1981 from U.S Steel Clairton Works as a foreman and also served in WWII where he was involved in both Northern Africa and Central Europe campaigns. In addition, he was a Scout Master, member of the Lions Club, the National Association Civilian Conservation Corps alumni and a tireless volunteer at Jefferson Hospital for over twenty years. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and Michael, sister, Mary, and his loving wife of almost sixty-seven years, Susan. Continuing to honor his memory are sisters, Margaret Tomesello, Helen Hampson, and Ann Charney; children, Joseph (Joan) Estock of Myrtle Beach, SC, Karen (Ronnie) McCann of Spokane, WA, and Linda Estock of Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren, Jacqueline, Nicole, Kelly, Andrew, Peter, and Kajsa; great-grandchildren Kayleigh, Kendall, Andrew, Elliot, Ewan, Macsen, Naomi, and Edmund. Always ready with a smile, he will be remembered for his unfailing generosity, helpfulness to many, and love of telling a good story. His life was blessed in so many ways, including the exceptional care he received at home from Cindy Jury, Patty Vamossy, and Suzie Jury. His family is especially grateful to Shirley Maurin for her endless compassion, patience, and ability, and to Bob and Marcie Ladley whose kindness and friendship continues to be appreciated. May God grant Joseph blessed peace and eternal memory. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 14, from 10 - 11:30 AM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Blessing Service will follow in the funeral home chapel.
