Joseph V. Dolata, Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph V. Dolata, Jr., age 88, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Baldwin Boro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025, in the comfort of his home while surrounded by the love of his family. Joseph was born on December 19, 1936, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Joseph and Marie (Geiger) Dolata.
Following his graduation from Brentwood High School, he went on to enjoy a long career at his own local business.
Joseph was a proud family man, his selflessness and willingness to help others led him to be acknowledged as a cherished father figure to many. He treasured the time spent and memories made with his grandchildren, especially enjoying their breakfast dates. Joseph also enjoyed going to the pool and picking out the perfect Hallmark greeting card for every occasion.
Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend of 64 years, Marie Sporio-Dolata. He is survived by his three children, Lisa (William) Kokladas, Thomas (the late Sandy) Dolata and Joseph (Lori) Dolata; six grandchildren, Thomas, Ashley, Shawna, Jessica, Brittany, and Joseph; and five great-grandchildren, Xavier, Grace, Jimmy, Jordyn, and Eloise. He also leaves his sister, Audrey Kaercher.
In addition to his wife, Joseph was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Billy.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family from 2:00 -4:00 pm and 6:00 -8:00 pm for visitation on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service in honor of Joseph will be held in the chapel at the funeral home on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park with a Celebration of Life taking place thereafter.
