Joseph R. Clarkson's Obituary
Joseph R. Clarkson, age 78, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of family. Born on September 25, 1947, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Ebert) Clarkson.
Joe was the beloved husband of Diana (Reich) Clarkson and the loving father to the late Andrea Lee Clarkson. In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his brother, Don (Jeannette) Clarkson; his sister, Nancy (Scott) Kocher; and many extended family members and friends. He was the proud father to his cat, and best friend, Davey.
Joe proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge, he went on to enjoy at career of 35 years with the United States Postal Service as a mail handler. For the past 10 years, Joe drove with Uber. This position fit him perfectly with his sociable nature and love of meeting new people. He belonged to AA since 2014, where he formed many meaningful relationships.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 2:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A blessing service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
