Joseph Barbano's Obituary
Joseph J. "Joe" Barbano, age 64, of Bethel Park, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, with the love of family around him. Joe was born on June 16, 1961, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Samuel and Rita (Malerbo) Barbano.
Joe graduated from Baldwin High School in 1979 and pursued further education at Robert Morris University. He enjoyed a distinguished career as a lifelong Teamster, working with Local 211 and currently serving as a business agent with Local 205. Joe was deeply committed to the Teamsters, holding the position of secretary of the union, where he was a respected figure and advocate for his colleagues.
Joe was the devoted husband of Angeline "Angie" Barbano, his high school sweetheart, with whom he shared 40 wonderful years of marriage.
Family was the cornerstone of Joe's life. He was a dedicated and loving father and grandfather, who cherished every moment spent with his family. Joe devoted countless hours to coaching his children's sports teams and took immense pride in supporting them in their various pursuits. Becoming a grandfather brought him indescribable joy, and he relished the time spent with his grandchildren, earning the endearing title of "Pappy." Joe's family frequently enjoyed vacations to Myrtle Beach and he cherished family dinners at his favorite restaurants following days of relaxation at the beach.
An avid fan of Pittsburgh sports, he never missed the opportunity to cheer on the Steelers. Joe had a profound passion for cars, eagerly volunteering to assist anyone seeking a new vehicle. He had a particular fondness for yellow cake with white icing from Bethel Bakery, and he found great joy in watching classic sitcoms and movies, with "The Godfather" being a notable favorite. Joe's remarkable sense of humor will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his loving wife, Angie, Joe is survived by his three beloved children, Michael (Amanda), Dominic (Francesca), and Nina (Dan); and his grandchildren, whom he adored, Dominic, Gianna, and Angelo.
