I was a freshman at Peabody High School in the fall of 1961 and Mr Z. was my drafting instructor for several years. Always having a crew cut and dressed in a white shirt with a tie. He always exemplified a professional teacher and received our respect. I learned a great deal from him even to this day I have fond memories of many of my teachers at Peabody. He will be remembered.
My thoughts are with you all.
Mr. \"Z\" was one of my most favorite high school teachers at Peabody High School. His conviction and expertise for his subject, his passion for teaching and his patience with his students spoke volumes about what kind of human being he was. I had to petition to the Vice-Principal to drop a required foreign language course in order to take Mr. Z's mechanical drafting course and stayed with it for three years. It had a profound impact on my decision to become an engineer and when I entered university and was required to take their mechanical drafting course, well, I was so well prepared, and my knowledge and drafting skills were so maturely developed compared to my fellow classmates, as a result of Mr. Z's class, that not only did I get an A with very little effort but my work was recognized by the professor and used as examples of what a good drafter was. That experience for a young freshman student, away from home, beyondt he drafting, helped me further develop a confidence in myself that holds true for me, today....I will be forever grateful. You will be missed, Mr. Z and thank you.

Dear Zaharewicz family,
I was in Mr. Z's classes from 1979 to 1982. He was THE BEST - always in the moment, pleasant, encouraging and KIND. Mr. Z led the class calmly and with gentle humor and cultivated an atmosphere of learning and respect. Last year at Peabody’s 40th reunion Mr. Z was fondly remembered by fellow students who had been lucky enough to have taken his classes. He will be missed.
With sincere sorrow for your loss, Nora Byrne Peabody class of ‘82
