Jonathan J. "Jon"
Age 32, of Chartiers Twp, formerly of West Mifflin, passed suddenly and unexpectedly on January 16, 2016. Beloved husband of Andrea L. Steiner; cherished son of Frank J. and Audrey D. (Sabol) Steiner; loving brother of Caitlin E. Steiner and Bethany R. Steiner; son-in-law of the late Karen S. Vergara; brother-in-law of Claudia A. Vergara; grandson of Mary R. (Spirnak) and the late John J. Sabol, Frank J. and Willa J. (Hicks) Steiner; also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his canine companions, Zorro and Jake. Jon is further survived by hundreds of brothers and sisters within the law enforcement community. He was a 2005 graduate of the Allegheny County Police Training Academy. He is currently an officer with the Cecil Township Police Dept. and a member of the Washington County Regional SWAT Team. He served most of his career as an officer with the City of Washington and Clairton Police Depts. Jon is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police as well as the Boroughs and Townships Police Organization. Jon loved spending time with his family, who meant everything to him. He was an avid runner who participated in several half and full marathons. He was passionate about books and loved reading; a connoisseur of craft beers and loved impromptu trips to Vegas with Andrea and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday 1-4 and 6-9 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 11 am at Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin.
