John S. White's Obituary
John S. White, age 87, of Pittsburgh, passed away on January 17, 2026.
As a contractor, John built not only structures but also treasured relationships and a strong family foundation. His dedication to his work was matched only by his love for music and dancing, which brought joy to those around him. He often said that his wife, Marilyn, was his guardian angel, providing unwavering support and love throughout their years together.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn White; children Susan (Scott) Charles, John (Tammy) White, and Matt (Amy) White; grandchildren Brandon (Chiara), Brooke, Drew, Abbey (Baylen), Elizabeth, and Rachel.
He is preceded in death by his parents James and Alice White and his siblings Patricia, Mary, George, James, and Dorothy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 21 at 10:00 am in the funeral home's chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians (LAMP), a service provider for the blind.
