John Friend
John Friend Waldron, 84, died peacefully on April 29, 2016 when he was called home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved his Lord and family above all things. He was born August 13, 1931 to the late Reverend Kenneth R. Waldron and Mary E. Waldron.
As the former President and Creative Director of HBM/Creamer Inc., he was inducted into the Pittsburgh Advertising Hall of Fame in 2001. He was known and recognized for numerous award-winning advertising campaigns including the ALCOA “Fantastic Finishes” creative concept which was produced in conjunction with NFL Films in the 1980’s.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Janet, in eternal rest. He is survived by his daughter; LynneAnne; son Kenneth (Annette); 1 sister; Jane Waldron Banning; numerous nieces and nephews as well as 4 grandchildren; Michael Christian Waldron, Ryan Friend Waldron, Zachary Waldron Fahnestock and Jenna Louise Fahnestock Boulware
John was loved and respected enormously by family and friends. His life, his work and his creativity will be celebrated and recognized for years to come. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Marion County, Florida (PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478-4860).
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 5, from 2-3 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Blessing Service will follow at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel. A Memorial Celebration will be held at Atria's Restaurant (10 Old Clairton Road, Pittsburgh, 15236) at the conclusion of the services. Condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
