John R. Shimko "Jack"'s Obituary
John R. "Jack" Shimko age 83 of North Huntingdon, formerly of Hays, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Forbes Hospital after a long and hard battle. Born in Munhall, the oldest child of the late John A. and Sarah J. Worton.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years Donna L. Carnegie, son John R. Shimko Jr., daughter-in-law Stephanie Shimko and grandkids Victoria Diak (Nick), Julianna, and Hunter whom he loved dearly. Additionally, Jack is survived by his sister-in-law's Angie and Carol along with his brother in-law Jack Tener in addition to his numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack was proceeded in death by his beloved daughter Lori B. Shimko; along with his brothers James and Ronald and his sister Sandra Tener.
Jack loved many things and among those many things were his vegetable garden, cooking, golfing, and hunting. He also spent many winter months in Davenport, Florida among his wife, family, and friends. Most of all, Jack loved being with his family. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed watching his grandkids play the sports they loved. Jack will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and staff(s) who provided compassionate care to "Jack" during his time of need.
