John R. Schell's Obituary
John Russell Schell, known to his friends as “Jack,” went to be with his Lord in heaven on August 30, 2018, at the age of 86. Jack lived most of his life in Mars, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in accounting and held a variety of positions throughout his career. He worked at H & R Block into his late 70s because he loved interacting with his clients. He was a people person who greeted everyone with a broad smile and warm handshake. Jack was a devout Christian who joyfully served his Lord, his family, his friends and his neighbors throughout his long life. He was united in heaven with Mae Schell, his wife and best friend of 55 years. He will be deeply missed by his three children Debbie Pfeiffer (David), Barb Schell, and Brian Schell (Melody). He will be lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren Kristen McMonagle (Brendan), Jonathan Pfeiffer (Ashley), Lindsay Summers (Parker), Nathan Schell, and his three great-granddaughters. Jack was blessed to have the love and support of his surviving siblings Don Schell (Marty), and Margie Gantz (John) as well as many nieces and nephews. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 2 pm - 4 pm with a funeral service following in the Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, September 2, 2018 at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC. 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
