John W. Puhatch's Obituary
John W. Puhatch, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the comfort of his own home. John was born on September 17, 1944, the son of the late John and Dorothy (Matey) Puhatch.
John lived a life that was rich in love, dedication, and service. He grew up in Munhall, where he attended local schools ultimately graduating from Munhall High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a strong sense of duty.
A devoted family man, John cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather, and his love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. A lover of music, John found joy in melodies of all kinds. He will be remembered for his kindness, gentle spirit, and the warmth he brought to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his son, John (Danielle) Puhatch, and his beloved granddaughters, Allison and Erica Puhatch, who were the light of his life. He also leaves his sisters, Priss (the late Bill) Gerhardt and Joyce (Larry) Cuban, his brother, Ken (Darlene "Cookie") Puhatch, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Sue Puhatch.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation beginning at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Child Church, 212 Station St, Bridgeville, PA 15017. Burial will be held at Jefferson Memorial Park.
