John A. Nort's Obituary
John A. Nort, III, age 69, of Bethel Park, formerly of Brentwood, passed away surrounded by loving family on November 26, 2021.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Kristen (Lunz) Nort; son, John A." Digger" Nort, IV (Lauren Douglass Nort); loving grandfather of Ashton, Kiley and Jack; brother of Nadine Nort, Jackie (James) Madden and Michelle "Mikie" Caldwell; his loyal, furry friend Gunner, as well as many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents John "Jack" and Julia Nort.
John was a Sergeant and Drill Instructor in the US Marine Corps, serving two tours during the Vietnam War. He served his hometown community of Brentwood, as a police officer for over 20 years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed shooting sports and studying several different disciplines of martial arts over the years. He was looking forward to spending many happy years with his cherished wife, Kristen at their second home on Hilton Head Island. He will be remembered as a dedicated family man who was extremely proud of his son and loved spending time with his grandchildren especially at the pool. John touched so many lives and he will be truly missed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A blessing service will be held Tuesday, November 30th, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in John's name may be made to South Hills Pet Rescue or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
