John C. McCormick's Obituary
John C. McCormick, age 70, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on September 28, 2025.
John is remembered as a kind man with a big heart, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He cherished spending time with his family, especially babysitting his granddaughters. John enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, and he found joy in watching old westerns, fishing, and sharing breakfast with his friends. His love for classic cars was evident, a reflection of his appreciation for craftsmanship and history.
John was well known for his nickname "Woody". Friends and colleagues would often be found calling for "Woody" whenever the phone rang. His warm spirit and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the kitchen where he lovingly prepared meals reminiscent of his childhood-delighting in dishes like corned beef and cabbage, beef stew, and "hobo packets".
He loved taking the long way on drives, often arriving late but always enjoying the journey. He could spend hours on the road, relishing the time spent in the car, often with laughter and good company. His zest for life and his love for exploration were contagious, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
