John Linn's Obituary
John Linn, 66, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 22, 1959, he was the son of the late John and Roberta Adamski Linn.
John lived a life marked by love, dedication, and a deep commitment to his family and community. He spent many years working as a lineman for Port Authority, where he dedicated himself to his craft with unwavering reliability. His hands, capable of fixing anything, were a testament to his industrious spirit and willingness to help others.
A true outdoorsman at heart, John found joy in fishing and hunting, relishing moments spent in nature. He had a green thumb and took great pleasure in planting flowers, filling their home with beauty and warmth. Above all, John was a devoted husband, father, pappy, uncle, and friend. He spent time learning about the interests of his loved ones, ensuring meaningful connections. He was a friend to all and a stranger to none.
John is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carol Ratti Linn; his two daughters, Shelli (Nick) Grimm and Gina (Jeff) Winkler; cherished grandchildren, Simone and Bodie; sisters, Mary Pat (Rob) DiPippa and Kelli Linn (Tom); brother-in-law, Ron Julian; sisters-in-law, Chris Ratti, Donna Ratti, Pam Ratti, and Cathy (Woody) Woods; as well as many nephews and nieces with whom he shared a special bond.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Julian, as well as his beloved dog, Gino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 10:00 am at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Thomas A' Becket Church, 139 Gill Hall Rd, Clairton, PA 15025. A Committal Service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park, 401 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
