John James Sharp's Obituary
John Sharp, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 29, 2023, just one day shy of his 72nd birthday. Born on December 30, 1951, in Pittsburgh, John lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and kindness. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from the purr of a well-tuned engine to the soft nuzzle of a beloved pet.
John's journey began in the steel city where he grew up, and in 1969, he graduated from South Side High School. His love for mechanics and an innate understanding of machinery led him to a successful career as the owner of Aaron Transmission, a role in which he served his community for many years. John's work was not just a job; it was a reflection of his character—reliable, strong, and always ready to support those in need.
Outside of his professional life, John was an avid enthusiast of motorcycles and could often be found working on his own cars in his spare time. He had a knack for all things mechanical, a trait that extended into his interest in computers. John was known among friends and family as a computer wiz, always up-to-date with the latest technology and eager to lend a helping hand with any tech-related issues.
John's love for animals was profound, with his favorites being his cats, Jasmine and Rachel. He shared a special bond with each of them, and his gentle, caring nature was evident in the way he treated all creatures. Though Jasmine preceded him in death, Rachel, his loyal feline companion, remains to remember the warmth of his affection.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Cynthia Ann Sharp (Bent), who was his partner in all aspects of life; daughters, Ann (Jim) Steimer and Vanessa (Shannon) Stafford. John also leaves behind his sister, Linda (Emerson) Ray.
John's life was one of purpose and joy. He approached each day with a quiet strength and a heart full of love for his family. As we say goodbye to John, we celebrate the life he lived and the countless ways he touched our lives. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held for John on Thursday, January 4th at 12 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Park. Family and friends should meet at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road Pittsburgh, PA 15236 a few minutes before noon to process to the grave together.
