John Gergley's Obituary
John R. Gergley, Jr., 82, of Jefferson Hills, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 17, 2016. He was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on November 12, 1933, to the late John Gergley, Sr. and Elsie (Gergley) Dabin. John is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 63 years, Lillian Hall Gergley; three daughters, Linda (Mark) Withrow, Donna Shaffer, and Debbie (Billy) Maurizio; grandchildren, Nathan J. (Athena) Withrow and Kaitlin D. (Dan) McKenzie, Ryan (Kate) Shaffer, and Nico and Gabriella Maurizio; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Lillian Shaffer; brother, Michael (Joyce) Gergley; brother-in-law, Joseph (Edna) Hall; sister-in-law, Carol Gergley; and extended family, Valerie DeBellis, Dale Puckey, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunt, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Gergley; extended family, Dale and Diana Puckey. He was a member of the Carpenters Local Union 230, and a Past Worshipful Master of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 582. Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, 2-4 PM & 6-9 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Blessing Service will be held on Thursday, October 20, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Anglican Church of Transfiguration, 206 Third Street, Elizabeth PA 15037.
