John E. Caler's Obituary
John Earl Caler, 81, of Jefferson Hills, passed away suddenly on November 15, 2018.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Georgia (Kraynak) Caler. He is survived by his children; Jay (Patricia), John Jr. (Judith), Jeffrey, and Josh (Michele) Caler ; Grandfather of Michelle, Kathleen Marie, Jordan, Kevin, Madalyn and Jaycey; sibling James Caler; siblings -in-law; George Kraynak, Francis (Dave) (Kraynak) Williams and Jo Ellen Kraynak. John is predeceased by his parents David and Elaine (Nagel) Caler and his sister Jean (Bill) Cryster.
John served in the U.S. Navy , retiring after 25 years. His service included being a Naval Aviator. After retiring from the Navy, he worked at Westinghouse until his retirement in 2003. His work at Westinghouse took him to numerous locations throughout the world ,which he and Mom enjoyed together. He lovingly cared for our Mother for 15 years, keeping her in their home until her passing. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed golf. Our family has lost a cherished member, and we all have lost a good man. He will now take his rightful place of honor with the other heroes at Arlington National Cemetery
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Pleasant Hills. A Blessing Service will take place immediately following the visitation at 8 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
