John Patrick Cooley's Obituary
John P. Cooley, 87, of West Mifflin, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 17, 2025.
A proud graduate of Duquesne High School, John enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he demonstrated his commitment to service by enrolling in the School of Aviation Medicine. His dedication led him to earn a degree as a radiology specialist, ultimately becoming an X-Ray Technologist at Braddock Hospital.
John found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, especially if it involved a game of Euchre or Uno. He was a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and weekends were often filled with games, laughter, and spirited conversations. In his downtime, John relished reading the newspaper, completing crosswords, and relaxing in front of the television.
John is survived by his loving spouse of fifty-four years Hilda "Mickey" Cooley; children Kelley Ursiny (Anthony Foster) and Patrick Cooley; grandchildren Tara, Emily (Tyler Derosky), Joelle (Wil) Roley, Andrew, Brooke (Sam) McKenzie, adopted grand-daughter Chazdine and brother Edward Cooley.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Marie Cooley.
Family and friends are welcome to join Monday October 20, 2025 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home 301 Curry Hollow Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15236
A blessing service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday October 21 at 12:00pm
