John Ramsay Clarke's Obituary
John Ramsay Clarke age 91, of Pittsburgh, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, October 08, 2017. He was the beloved, husband of Marion (Hutcheson) Clarke, deceased June 2011. Stepfather of David S. Hutcheson, Diane C. Dowhy and Dale Hutcheson. Grandfather of Heather Mendoza and Brent Hutcheson. Son of Joseph Porter Clarke and Adelaide Ramsay Clarke. U.S. Army Corp of Engineers January 1949 - November 1951. Graduated May 1946 from Carnegie Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and was employed from 1946 thorough 1983 as a steel plant engineer at U.S. Steel, Koppers, Mesta, Kaiser Engineering and Wean United. He was a member of Trinity Cathedral Choir form 1935-1971, Bach Choir of Pittsburgh in the 1970’s and Church of the Ascension Choir from 1985-1995. Long-time member of Toastmasters International, Pittsburgh Club and the City of Bridges Club He served as the District 13 Governor and was honored as a Distinguished Toastmaster. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 10 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday October, 11 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 -8:00 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. Christian Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 12 at Church of the Ascension, 4729 Ellsworth Avenue, Pittsburgh at 11:00 AM. Entombment at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.Condolences may be given at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz
