John C. "Bird" Voytko's Obituary
John C. "Bird" Voytko, age 58, of West Mifflin, passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 21, 2019. Bird is survived by his beloved wife, Karen (Kling) Voytko; son, Justin W. Voytko; sisters, Paula (Joe), Jeanne (Ron); brother, Rick; father-in-law, William Kling; dear friend, Pete; extended members of the Goller family; dogs, Daisy and Jax; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean Voytko; mother-in-law, Patricia Kling; dear friend, Debbie Demis; and dogs, Dozer and Penny. Bird was an old-school biker who was passionate about his Harley Davidson bikes. He won multiple awards for Kick-Start contests and antique motorcycles, and was featured in magazines that highlighted his beloved Shovel Head "Barney." He enjoyed his longtime career of driving trucks, and visited many parts of the country. He built his family's home where he loved to hold badass 4th of July parties with giant firework displays. His love for dogs influenced him to be known as the "Dog Whisperer," and led to several adoptions of beloved pets. He was an avid gun enthusiast and was a strong advocate of the Second Amendment. The family wishes to thank the Short-Stay nurses of Jefferson Regional Hospital and the Vitas Hospice nurses for their compassionate and unwavering care. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236.
