Jocelyn Elizabeth Hill's Obituary
Jocelyn Elizabeth Hill, a beloved matriarch and community member, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2023. Born on August 9, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Jocelyn was a woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Jocelyn was the cherished wife of the late Donald Hill, and the loving daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Grable. She was the proud sister of the late Robert Grable, Jr., and Beverly Haney, and the adored mother of the late Donna J. Klempay and Dean Hill. Her love extended to her son-in-law, Joseph Klempay, daughter-in-law, Ellen Hill, and her grandchildren, Lee, Crissy, Emily (Dan), Dean Jr. (Danni), Benjamin (Angela), and the late Ryan. Jocelyn's heart was big enough to encompass her great-grandchildren, Christopher, Dakota, Gabby, Jacob, and Jaxon, and even her faithful dog, Finnigan.
Jocelyn's life was marked by her love for travel. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unparalleled. She often said that they were her greatest joy and the source of her strength.
She was a member of the Democratic Women of Washington County. Jocelyn was also known for her love of bowling. Her love for cards was legendary in her family. She also was a fan of polka music. Her laughter and joy during these times were infectious, making every gathering a memorable event. She was a lover of puzzles and the Game Show Network. Jocelyn was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers and Pirates.
Jocelyn had a special place in her heart for animals. Her dog, Finnigan, was a constant companion and brought her immense joy. Her compassion extended to all creatures.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 28 at 12 noon in the funeral home's chapel.
